Random Conversation of the Day
Remember when you were young and you thought all those people on your favorite TV shows actually lived inside the television? Well, this is the latest "Kids Say the Darndest Things" episode from my house. It happened while the kids were watching Blues Clues today.
R: "I want Joe from Blues Clues to come over to my house and play with me."
Me: "Okay, I'll call Nickelodeon and find out how we can do that."
R: "No, let's just break the TV screen and pull him out of there. Come on, let's do it."
Me: "I think your Dad would get mad if we broke the TV. Let's call Joe on the phone first and see if he can come here in his car."
R: "Okay."
Then I changed the channel and he forgot about it. For now.

lol . . . !
That is so sweet. When my husband was a kid, he used to think that tiny people sat in the radio and sang :-)
Oh that is so cute :)
I can't remember if I thought my favorite people on TV were actually living inside the television as a kid, but I can tell you that I definitely never felt that way at my uncle's house. He had the oldest black and white TV I ever saw and it was really difficult to even maek out the different people. Come to think of it, we should've listened to the radio at his place instead.
I actually thought the people used to live inside there, in a TV-Land, until I was about 8 years old. At that time, I saw a commercial by an actor, I can't remember who it was, who explained, "Do you think we live inside the TV? We don't. We have real lives and eat dinner with our families just like you." The commercial showed him stepping out of the television and into his kitchen and sitting down at a table with his family for dinner. It was weird, but it stuck in my brain forever. It must have been a common belief for an actor to do a PSA about it. The year was 1981 by the way, long time ago.
HAHA- How old is R?
Mine wonders if there is a person sitting inside the phone
LOL!
Artnavy, R is four.
I seem to recall thinking the same thing about someone being inside a telephone. :-)
ROFL! My 2 yr old was just yelling at one of the kids on the Upside Down Show who was fingerpainting. She was standing there yelling "my turn, my turn" and finally got really po'd and hit the tv screen. It was all I could do not to laugh my butt off and keep a straight face while trying to explain that we don't hit when we're angry.
