Salma Hayek's Smoking Hot Black Bag

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Have you seen this black bag Salma Hayek has been carrying on the Ugly Betty show? It's become my latest obsession. I love it. It's the Francesco Biasia Aphrodisiac Trapezoid Tote, and it's now at the top of my most wanted list.

I love the woven leather and the big handles on this bag, they make it look both stylish and sturdy at the same time. According to all the fashion mags, the "it" bag of the moment is a big black leather bag with brass-toned hardware, and this bag definitely fits the bill. The Francesco Biasia Aphrodisiac Trapezoid Tote is available at Zappos.com for $391.95, and the shipping is free.

maleeha, me too. I've always loved Salma's sense of style, especially in this photo where she's rocking the all-black look. She even dyed her hair jet-black recently, that's the "in" thing right now for those who can pull off black hair. I've been thinking of dyeing my hair jet-black too after I saw her pictures. It looks really dramatic.

BTW you highlighted betty's bag a while back. Did you end up seeing it person? I thought the handles were too small..... :( Coach has a similar purse but its three times the price but the handles are better. *sigh*

yes, Selma is gorgeous. On tonight's show, she showed off her ample bootie in jeans. She's only 5'3" or so but she looks taller. TV? Heels? On another note as the holiday season approaches...makeup advice chicmommy, can women of color (specifically desis) wear any eyeshadows besides the browns, beiges, copper tones etc.? What's your opinion?

aisha, I did check out the bag in person, the handles are a tight squeeze if you're wearing a coat and your trying to hold the bag over your shoulder(like Betty has in the picture), but they fit over my arm when I was just wearing a sweater. I didn't buy it though, because I chose to buy some clothes in the store instead and it ended up costing alot, so I stopped spending money. The husband has me on a budget.

desimom, you should definitely try some emerald green, blue and purple eyeshadows. I really like MAC eyeshadow in Sketch, which is a purply pink with gold flecks in it. Also, Nars has a really nice Eye Shadow Duo out called "Belly Dance" that would look fabulous on brown eyes:

chicmommy, my choices for makeup are limited as I can't go to "the really good mall" with baby in tow to try on makeup, esp. with older children tucked away in school. Husband is on business trip for a few days (whining mad in my house, not the kids...me! Why do you have to go and leave me here with these people?) I'm limited to just "the mall" where I can purchase the regulars...Lancome, Precriptives, Estee, Chanel, etc... Went to the link to see colors and will experiment with the like. Thanks.

ok, here's the thing.. I want to like that bag..truly, I do. I WANT to like bags that are more stylish than the $15 crappie I carry around, because, let's face it, I have no clue what's stylish when it comes to bags.

But honestly, I have to say, that this bag scares me. With it's black leather, and scale-y sharp edged look, and industrial style hardware. I feel like it might bite me, if I was carrying it around.

I'll be the first to admit I have no sense of fashion with the bags, so please don't take it personally. This is coming from me - after all, I'm still mourning the loss of my plether messenger bag, I used to drape across my chest back in college.

:)

Chic Mommy,
I really need to go shopping with you :) I’ve been wanting to buy the perfect jeans for myself and haven’t succeeded yet. My shopping goal this winter is to buy the perfect pair of jeans, a nice purse that I can wear with anything and high heel boots. I thought I did good a week ago with 2 new pairs of jeans and a new pair of boots, but I hate them already.
I need a fashion expert to shop with me.

leilouta, I'd love to! E-mail me whenever you're in the area. Although I must admit, I'm mostly an online shopper. If I go out with the kids alone, nothing gets done and I end up chasing them in different directions. I usually go to the mall with the husband, and he watches them for me while I go into a store to look around.
