According to a new book, The Black Book of Hollywood Secrets, the secret behind Teri Hatcher's soft and smooth skin is bathing in red wine. Not a whole tub full of wine, but a cup of red wine added to the bath water, with rose petals sprinkled on top to make the experience extra special.
The polyphenols found in grapes jump-start circulation to reveal healthier glowing softer skin. The book advises, pour one cup of red wine (don't worry about stains on skin or tub) into a warm bath, put a few rose petals on top, jump in, and stay for 20 minutes. Teri Hatcher uses old wine and lets the sediments sink to the bottom of the tub. "I scoop them up in the tub and use them as an exfoliant. The only bad thing is you can't drink the whole bottle of wine," she says.I've heard that Cleopatra used to bathe in goat's milk to keep her skin soft, but the idea of bathing in red wine is new to me. It sounds very interesting, but I guess you would actualy have to have the time to take a bath to experience the benefits of this beauty treatment. Other beauty secrets revealed in this book: Jennifer Aniston uses Neutrogena soap on her face and Mischa Barton curls her hair with velcro rollers (yawn). But according to the book review on Amazon, the book also reveals the beauty secrets of stars like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Beyoncé Knowles, and Charlize Theron. I might check it out the next time I take my kids to play trains at B&N.

Milk cream on the face can work wonders. I use desi night cream which has milk cream instead of mineral oil like most moisturizers here. I wish someone made an acceptable-smelling milk-based body wash.
Someone should write a book about Rekha's beauty secrets. She has't aged at all in the past 20 years. She claim's it's yoga but I'm sure there's more to it.
Have you seen home chicken on HDTV though? She should not be boasting about the beauty of her skin. Its shocking. She was voted by some entertainment site as having the worst aging experience. I didnt believe it until I i saw it on high def.
Hey I've been lurking around your blog for a while and find it really fun. Plus the fashion whore in me really enjoys all the pics.
Red wine eh, interesting.
I think the red wine thing is kinda creepy...a little too goth for me. Is she known for her skin? I never really thought it was that special. I'm usually too busy thinking how emaciated she looks, and how one of her nostrils looks like its sunken in.
The one actress I think who has amazing skin is Thandi Newton - not sure about the spelling. She was in Crash, recently, and Beloved - a while back. She did a spread in Instyle or something, and she looked amazing.
an, Rekha's secret is that she never had kids. I think the stress of childbirth and all those sleepless nights make you age faster.
Aisha, her face IS showing alot of wrinkles. I've seen her photos on the net recently too, it's alot of sun damage if you ask me. I have to agree with Sadaf, I don't know why she was included in the book, I never thought she had that great skin either, but I guess if you tell someone you bathe in red wine, it makes news.
Here's a nasty pic link of Teri Hatcher recently looking like a frightfest! Trick or treat!

Thanks, abcd!
I don't know ONE SINGLE mom that bathes in red wine. Or even takes a bath... just showers. And I really don't think Teri's skin looks that's great.
BTW, An, Burt's Bees has a milk based body wash I think; they're soo expensive though. =/
Chic, I saw your comment on Beyonce's neck and I counted my neck lines! That's so cool! In 6 years I'll check to see if I have another line.
