Aishwarya Rai Without Makeup, Looking Depressed

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Aishwarya Rai is looking really depressed lately. It seems her horoscope is not good, and won't be compatible for a marriage to her Umrao Jaan co-star Abhishek Bachchan. Aishwarya recently went to a temple in Varanasi with Abhishek, and his family, which included Big B, Jaya, and Abhishek's sister, Shweta. They were thronged by paparazzi, and it seems like catching candid photos of Bollywood celebs is now coming in vogue in India.

I must say it's nice to see her without makeup. Now I don't feel so fug.

Here's a glimpse of Aishwarya with her future (or possbily current) in-laws. You can see Big B Amitabh in the front, Jaya in the orange sari, and the Shweta behind Jaya. Abhishek is the one pulling on his ear behind Aish. The whole family is here to pray for Aishwarya. Question is, where is Aishwarya's family? Shouldn't they be praying for her too?

I think she looks beautiful without makeup but I am shocked that she is not white like paper. I wish she wouldnt cover up her skin to look so fair when she could be a role model for darker (the majority) desi women who feel without paper whit skin they are unattractive.

oh come on, no one looks lively at 3am with no makeup on!

i think she looks lovely without makeup! :)

Well, she definitely looks a lot better than I do without makeup. Her eyebrows are scary-tweezed though. Yikes.

If those two do get married though, I'd love to see pics of that week of wedding parties. The wedding industry in India must be salivating at the thought.

I knew I'd get slammed for making that comment. I didn't mean she looked fug, I meant that if a supermodel like Aishwarya has the confidence to walk around without makeup and still look pretty, why should I feel so fug without makeup? Most of us are better looking than we think, but still we compare ourselves to the dolled up models in the magazines and feel unnecessarily depressed about it. My sister has always told me I look fine without makeup, but still I never leave the house without blush and lipstick. I am my own worst critic.

But I found it humbling that Aishwarya doesn't feel the need to be made up all the time, I like it. And I feel bad for her situation, that the Bachchan family will be cursed if she marries Abhishek (or so the rumors say).

Because exams are starting I am surfing the net more than usual (b/c i'm oh so lazy) and I saw that some are saying they may already be married? Because the place she was... she was there with HIS family and its traditionally a family thing?

aisha, I heard the same thing. Rumor is they are secretly married already, but some religious person told them an Aishwarya-Abhishek union will put a pox on the Bachchan family, Aishwarya is a bad luck charm for them according to her horoscope, so they made this visit to the temple to "undo" the evil curse.

I would die if these two got married. Not only would I leave my husband for Aishwarya, but after Umrao Jaan, I'm also in love with Abhishek. Can you imagine their babies?? Yes, I'm a bit obsessd .. and yes, I'm going to watch Dhoom 2 tonight so I can become even more obsessed =)

sonia, you're not alone. I'm an Abhishek lover too, and I don't even know why. He's not even particularly good looking and that beard makes him look really scruffy, but like that other not-so-handsome actor Shahrukh Khan, his personality shines through, and...me likey! His role in Kuch na Kaho sealed the deal for me, Abhishek is hot!

Aishwarya has the good-looking-girl-next-door look. We went to the same high school (not the same class though - she's 2yrs older). She wasn't particularly glamorous back then.

Chic! Please don't speak that way about Shahrukh.

I actually liked your comment. All women of every ethnicities face the horrible comparisons to being as beautiful as the women in cinema. It is very unfair. Many of these cinema women have the best makeup artist (yes, because the work wonders!) and the best lighting people and photographers. There are special tecniques such as using two different colors of foundation to make your nose look shorter and/or smaller. The average woman does not have this luxury.

Aishwarya is very beautiful with makeup and pretty without makeup. Keep in mind, beauty is a double edge sword. I am sure in her past as with most beautiful women, there were men that cared nothing for your spirit but only wanted to show you as a trohpy.

Fortunate is the woman who can find a man to love her unconditionally, regardless of looks.

*I did not check for grammar or spelling. I apologize if you encounter mistakes.

Thanks for this post by the way.

Our perception of beauty has been tainted.

The reason she looks so dark si because of lighting.
I have pretty much teh same skin tone as her and in some pictures I look as white as stone and in others my skin tone could pass for south indian/sri lankan. It's bizarre. Lighting is the predominent factor when it comes to skin colour changing. Not all this bleaching and skin lightening that I think people jealous of Aishwarya claim it to be. On top of that Makeup + flash of a camera = white. yep.

Nikhil, please don't equate skin colour to region; you forget that Aishwarya in indeed SOUTH Indian!

king,
i am not equating skin colour to region. when it comes to certain things generalisations can be made. the majority of south indians ARE darker. And Indians do have darker features. If i had said that the majority of south indians were light... there woudl be have been no objection to my so-called equating of region with skin colour. Jesus. What's with the mad political correctness. And I would never say north indains are fair because they are not. It exists in both north and south a SIGNIFICANT MINORITY.
